There's some complex math there -- when the proximity goes negative the price stabilizes at its last agreed point (since negotiation is moot at that point) but at all incrememnts of distance down to zero the price goes up proportionally to the inverse of distance times the inverse of the affinity factor. Bat your eyes and the price goes down. Up to a point, anyway... :>)
