Web of Birdsong is a song I've known and loved since the 70's when people were doing it in the folk scene. It took me a while to find out that it was by Bob Coltman. He has one album out from a long time ago (vinyl) and writes the most amazing songs. One of his goals is to rewrite traditional ballads in contemporary tellings. Valley Forge is very powerful, Last Minstrel Show a slow sad story of the end of an era, Lonesome Robin a bittersweet retelling of Robin Hood's death... all different, all good.
