Here in Connecticut, our power went out the day BEFORE the storm, for no reason that we ever found out. The worst part was that our cars were prisoners in the garage, because we couldn't get the garage door up. Yeah, I know about the manual release. But that's when we found out that the spring on the heavy double garage door was broken and we couldn't lift the door up!

So the actual storm, with newly restored power and just major wind and torrential rain was easily weathered. We do now have a tropical lagoon in our backyard pool which we decided not to close last weekend. Every leaf from the neighborhood is decorating the bottom and sides of our pool. (What am I doing surfing when I should be skimming??)
