Thread Name: Origins: Funiculi Funicula
Subject: ADD: Funiculi Funicula (Tall Silk Hat)^^^
My father, who grew up in Toronto and is now 85 taught me the words as: One day, I chanced to take upon the trolley,
My tall silk hat, my tall silk hat.
I laid it gently on the seat beside me,
My tall silk hat, my tall silk hat.
A big fat lady came and sat upon it.
My tall silk hat, my tall silk hat.
A big fat lady came and sat upon it.
My tall silk hat, my tall silk hat.
Chistopher Columbus, whaddya think o that?
A big fat lady sat upon my hat.
My hat she broke, now that's no joke.

Just thought it was interesting..obviously the predecessor to the subway version..or at least the canadian version.
