Noel Gay of 'Me & my girl@ fame was hardly noted for his protest songs, but produced a lyric in the '30s which went:-
Tt's the truth, facts is facts, The only thing that matters is the Income Tax, Is it fair that we should pay, Four and a tanner under schedule A?
