Kendall -- read your message to Tom over the phone to his at 8:30 this morning. And he takes that threat seriously!

Don't know what time tomorrow they'll be transporting him to Portsmouth, but he's scheduled for breakfast where he is now. Good. Maybe that will leave me some time to do all the things I have to do before going to the hospital -- including a 7 a.m. appointment regarding financial matters and taking my primary computer to the computer doctor.

Right now I'm scheduling a long, hot bubble bath with a glass of rum in one hand and a book in the other. Long needed R&R. I slept well last night and even got back to sleep for another hour after I woke at 5 a.m. Even ate a decent breakfast instead of grabbing something on my way out the door.

Tom's been entertaining a steady stream of friends and well-wishers. Thought for awhile yesterday banjos were going to break out. (But the guy in the next bed might not appreciate that . . .)

I'll keep everyone posted.
