I've often thought how ironically cruel-- just when we most need whoever has been our best, most reliable source of comfort, THAT's the very person or animal we end up having to grieve, WITHOUT them there by our side!

And, we say we put our pets to sleep, and they don't feel a thing, but what we are really doing is volunteering to be stabbed through the heart ourselves, and THAT does not go to sleep, it just, eventually, aches for something else!

Sometimes I wonder what's up with THAT!?
