Quick revision --

I talked to the ICU about 45 minutes ago (about 11 a.m.) -- he's doing well and the chest drain is out, etc. but they're not in any hurry to move him to the step down unit. He just had a chest x-ray and they're waiting for the results from that -- he's not doing the coughing or the breathing exercises well enough to make them (or me) happy. I'll go in to the hospital after I wrap up a few things around the house and I'LL put the fear of the Lord into him! He's GOT to cough, GOT to do the breathing workout, or he's in danger of pneumonia, a longer stay in the hospital, slower recovery period, the always-there possibility of picking up one of the bugs that lurk at hospitals, etcet etcet.

Dammit! If he's not willing to go through the pain for his own sake, I'll damned well make him do it for ME!

I've been doing plenty of things lately that aren't particularly fun but have to be done -- now it's his turn.
