The great thing about "Destination Moon" was the scenery -- Willy Ley did it, and he was one of the greatest "space painters" ever.

Someone mentioned that early SF films got the physics right (usually) and more recent ones rely on "bigger is better." I quite agree -- seeing the fighters zoom around in "Star Wars" makes for good action, but you can't do such things in reality. Kinda like the person who said about Apollo 13, "Why didn't they just turn right around and come back?"
