Subject: Submitting Lyrics to the Digital Tradition
Hi, Ed - I also found there was a bit of a unreliability playing tunes with the Spring 99 edition. I got the impression from Dick Greenhaus that it was the result of an experiment that didn't work as well as hoped. I'm sure he'll have it fixed with the next edition.
The blue DigiTrad lyrics search box on this page has a drop-down menu of various links related to the Digital Tradition. The "faq" you seek is titled About the DigiTrad (click).

I know that Digital Tradition Co-curators Dick Greenhaus and Susan of DT will accept lyrics in any of a number of formats, as Susan explained above. However, the rest of us might prefer that you submit your lyrics by posting them here, so we can get a peek at them before they get into the database. Posting lyrics like that can generate some great discussions. Just be sure you post them in a thread that has a title that fits the song. The title of a song is usually the best title for a thread, but sometimes it's better to continue a discussion by posting your lyrics in an existing thread - but then it's a good idea to put ADD and the song title in the message title. I think Dick and Susan are pretty good at noticing lyrics that are posted, but the word ADD may help them.
If you want lyrics to be considered for the database, it might not be a good idea to post them in a "BS" thread - those threads are reserved for "chat" types of communication.
