Your mention of Mostar brought back the memory of that lovely 12th century arched stone bridge over the river in the middle of town, a gorgeous, graceful piece of medieval construction. It was destroyed in a bomb raid in the 80's "civil" war. I wonder whether they'll rebuild it.
