Thread Name: BS: He's gone (English cricket topic!)
Subject: RE: BS: He's gone (English cricket topic!)
Cricket vs Baseball is a bit like having a decent meal vs going to McDonalds.

So what your saying is that Cricket became popular everywhere else in the 1950s? Because Baseball was well established by the 1880s and predates that by at least 50 years. I've never said there's anything wrong with Cricket I was just questioning why it wasn't ever popular in the U.S., and all I get in response is a slam on the short attention span of the U.S. Just how many things do you do that take up to 5 days? The rest of your popular sports last only a few hours. And as for food - are you aware that Britain continues to be the butt of jokes when it comes to quality?

As for the War of 1812 - What was Britain's goal in that war? To kill a few Americans and burn the White House? If that was all (and not to try to gain a lot of land and/or make our government fail), no wonder we've also had to bail you out of 2 world wars, gave you the Bomb and your government is silly enough to be the only serious ally with the U.S. in the current pointless war.

And as for Florida hosting some matches in 2007, welcome to my state - at least we won't have to put many of your fans in jail like we would if we were hosting your football team and fans.

Thanks John for your answer - I'd never heard the word before.
