If by gardens you mean individual flower beds, I have that habit also. Last count there are 11; one is fallow for now, four are in pretty good shape, two have veggies and the grass is okay there (protects the plants) and four still have to have the bermuda grass removed as deeply as possible without destroying the plants that are supposed to stay in the bed. Good thing about last night's rain--in a day or two the ground will be dried enough to be perfect for weeding the grass out.
