So how is it that simply being required to state whether a thread is going to be about either (A) a musical topic or (B) a non-musical topic infringes upon anyone's individual freedoms?

I thought I had made it clear in the rest of my post, that your idea was a good one and should be introduced as soon as possibly. Not that this opinion is worth very much.

Or is it just the idea of being required to do anything that is offensive?

as I have said, although I would not generally be favour of yet more compulsion here, your idea is greatly preferable to the present silly situation and what I fear is to be imposed upon us.
