Sonnet 13/03/04                     DCCCXC

Is winter over now, and does the earth
Awaken from cold slumber to become
A source of growth? I now await the birth
Of dreams to life: My hopes to dreams succumb.
Should I look for a change, in what I find
That stars and moonlight give me? Shall I seek
To hold for real what I hold in my mind,
Or think that dream might ever future speak?
How can I know what would her smile assure?
What should I tell of dreams, when I desire
A love no reason permits? She is more
Than friend, this muse that all of hopes inspire.
What might I do, to show how much hopes mean?
I have not words to hint of passions' glean
