Experience is what you have left over after you have made a mistake

When in doubt say "no" because "no" is more easily changed to "yes" than "yes" is to "no". (I've taught my daughters this!)   

Remember, after a while the dust doesn't get any thicker. (useful if you've had a hard week, it's club night but there is housework still to be done)

Babies don't "keep". (take lots of photos, play lots of games, give lots of hugs)
