Thing good thing appears to be that the travelling supporters did not create trouble, unlike many so-called fans at home - after watching the game on pub TVs and getting drunk.

Rooney was a plus, looking like a young Zidane, but he had done enough by that point and was simply not able to chase and hold the ball up. I think Wolfgang may have a point about the penalty taker. The goal keeper took an (educated) guess and was right. Had he not been well known to the keeper, he may well have guesed wrong. But the French defender (yet another Man Utd player) should have been sent off, as the last man. This should have been a goal and would have changed everything. But this would have made a good final - let us hope that it still may.....
