The only other group I know besides our band, who adapts from as many gospel genres as we do, is the Hopeful Gospel Quartet, which can be heard regularly on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion." I've begun borrowing quite a bit of their material-- it's all archived like SC-- and adapting it further for our use. When I've gone back in time to try to find the version they learned from, it's been interesting to estimate their arranging approach. I think it's a lot like ours-- soak up the heart of the song and then PLAY with it till it's ours.
