Bert - you wold probably have enjoyed seeing this as much as we did...

a couple weeks ago we were cleaning one of our goldfish ponds - this involves pumping it out after having stirred it up to distribute as much silt as possible into the water being pumped out. You actually pump a thickish slurry of mud.

There was a groundhog burrow in the side of the hill next to the pond - and to avoid the mess of pumping across the lawn, we decided to just send the slurry down the hole.

after about 2 hours of pumping we were extremely surprised to see a groundhog come barreling out of the burrow - coated in the mud - madder then a wet hen! It was perturbed - to say the least!
