Sonnet 01/06/04                        CMXV

She does not know how hard it is to keep
From running there, to seek to see her smile.
She fills my thoughts: Might I hope for a while
To hold her in my dreams? I yearn for sleep
To show desire: Yet, can I from dreams reap
What I should ask of her? How can I think
That I have given care enough to link
Desire to action? Should I for hope weep?
She knows I care: But have I given sign
Of how much I want to give kiss to skin?
What should I do, to give heart hope to win
This muse from whom such longed-for passions flow?
What can I say, to any of dream show,
When all I dream is to hold her as mine?
