When my wife & I helped to run the Borderline Coffehouse in Rockland County, N.Y., we used to book Aztec Two Step every year. They were always very good. One year, the guy who was booking the talent decided to save some money, and instead of booking the duo, he only booked Rex Fowler as a solo act. Needless to say, Rex bombed that night big time. He himself realized after that night that without his partner, he could not render a quality performance. Whenever we meet him, we can always joke together about that night's show which became known as Aztec One Step. I believe that was the first and last time that Rex ever tried to go solo. SOL ZELLER
