Here's a remark made by President Bush
at the signing on Thursday morning of the Defense Appropriations
Act for Fiscal Year 2005, as reported on the official White House
Web site:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." Not even C J Cregg could put a positive spin on that.
