(I found her down near thebottom, lying asleep. She'd been lying there since 1:30 in the morning and no-one had said anything. Nothing. I shook her gently. She murmured something from the depths of her abandonment. I had to lean over to hear what she said.

Pooooosssss.s.s.s.s.tttttt........................ Poooossss.sss.sss.ttttt."

I looked around anxious to help, not knowing what she could have meant. Sure enough, lying among the weeds not far from where she lay there WAS a post, weathered and kind of trivial looking, but surely a post, nonetheless.
