I once heard it said FEAR stood for False Evidence Appearing Real. I also have vertigo and have gradually been able to lessen it's intensity by pursuing what terriorizes me such as hiking on mountain ridges. If I'm climbing a steep ladder, I have learned to only focus my attention on the next rail.
