A beer with his fish-and-chips, a job that is interesting and worth doing, a woman who suits him, a cup of tea, bitter and sour rather than sweet things (except that woman), a new author (all my favourite ones have quit or died), peace when he needs it, a reliable vehicle, lots of tools, friends, music, fishing, and somewhere like Mudcat.
