I sing the Braes of Balquither to the tune Will you come to the Bower with the first line of the first verse as a chorus. The Scots Irish mix was obligatory

I'm not inovative enough to write songs but I can put words to music - though when in a hurry it is easy (for me) to take a traditional or well known tune and the words fit. I think it is because there are far fewer rhythms than words - did you ever hear the Kippers whistle a monologue?
