Set your boundaries about the paint. You are under no obligation to help her paint. She can hire it done, ask the landlord to do it, or have friends over to help. If you marry her, make sure you spell out exactly what you are willing and not willing to do. if you are not in to home maintenance, don't get a Victorian fixer.
