Its funny how the offensiveness of swear words can vary so much depending on where you come from. A friend of mine was once shocked to hear me say "Bugger off" which is very mild where i come from, but really shocked her. After discussion we found that of 3 common sweary expressions (Fuck off, Piss off, Bugger off), I found that list to decrease in offensiveness and she found it to decrease!
