These aren't really folk clubs per se, but they're my favorite music bars in New York, had to recommend them.

Paddy Reilly's on 2nd Ave at 29th Street features my favorites, the Prodigals, most Fridays at around 11 pm. They do Irish stuff but speeded up and rock and roll. They do a version of Spancil Hill to the tune of Ghost Rider in the Sky (sort of), and Some Say the Devil is Dead and Celtic Symphony plus some nifty originals.... Hard to explan, easy to dance to. Also there's Guiness on tap... can't go wrong... I think the cover is $5 but I never pay 'cause I'm sort of a fixture there. They have other bands there too that you guys might want to check out. (Yes, they're English friendly there :) )

Also there's Rocky Sullivans on Lexington near 29th Street which also has good music a lot, including my second favorites, Seanchai, which I babble about in some other thread.

write me if you want -- lorettagrace@excite.com -- I can recommend tons of neat stuff in NYC that doesn't neccesarily revolve around irish bands and beer. :)
