Well, Amos - I think that one of the main complaints against religion is abusive conduct done in the name of religion. So, I think the topic of abuse is certainly pertinent to this discussion.

Abuse in religion is a fact, and it's a very embarrassing fact for those of us who are active in religious organizations. You say I have known "the exceptions" - but I'm guessing you think "the exceptions" are the good priests and nuns. I have known hundreds of priests and nuns. A few are troubled, disturbed people - these are the "exceptions." The vast majority of priests and nuns I have known are extraordinarily good people who make a wonderful contribution to our society, but you don't make headlines being good.
