Fiolar, follow that thought just a ittle further- if some people are condemned to tortured eternity, what about their family and friends who 'made' it to Heaven? If they knew their loved one was being eternally tortured, surely they themselves would not be in the eternal bliss of Heaven? Does that mean that God has to do a massive wipe on the minds and souls of each person in Heaven so that they no longer remember that once they loved someone?

Nah. I've created enough hell in my own life to know what it is. Heaven too, for that matter.

What I suspect is that 'heaven' is a time of stock taking in preparation for another foray into the physical world.
