I slipped into a junk store on a whim today while in Detroit and, digging through albums of old 78's, found a copy of 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' by the 'Fisk University Jubilee Quartet'. It's on Victor, index number 16453, and it credits J. W. Work, N. W. Ryder, J. A. Myers, and Alfred G. King. The B-side is 'Golden Slippers'. Thanks for the date. Hope this is useful information.
