I'll recommend a great novel, by Umberto Eco, called Foucault's Pendulum. It involves the Masons and the claimed connection with the Knights Templar, and is full of esoteric and occult references. It is a fine novel, but not for everyone. I have to admit that it's sometimes hard reading. I certainly wouldn't set it up as an authoritative source for knowledge of either Masonic thought or the Knights Templar!
