Some of us do, so that "all" is not exactly accurate. Not that there's anything wrong with using a pseudonym, or concealing our real details (not the same thing, incidentally), and there can be a number of reasons why these can be sensible things to do.

Using our own names can perhaps protect us from giving in to the temptation to misuse the freedom we have here, in the way that a small number of people do. However most people here don't seem to go in for that kind of nastiness.

At least you do it under your own name, but it's got to the point that I don't bother reading your posts any more.

That really is pretty rich, coming from someone who, by posting as an unnamed GUEST, indistinguishable from all the other unnamed GUESTS, deprives people of the opportunity to do precisely that.   (And of course, since this particular phantom claims not to have read Susan's post in any case, how can this response exist in the first place.)
