Q your "Ile aux Dindes" is shown on this page (see map). I think it's the island currently known as "Fighting Island." It's on the Canadian side of the river, across from Grosse Ile, an American military base. When I was a kid, I wondered if the Canadians fought the Americans on that island. Since I had ancestors from both sides of the river, I wasn't sure which side should have won.
