Sonnet 30/10/02                         DCCLIX

Might I find hope, in thought of snow and stars,
And moonlight upon trees, and silver wind?
Yet, shall I think of hope, when heart is pinned
To sleeve, and dreams are found behind cold bars?
Can thought of you alter the past, to clear
Vain imagination, shadowed desire,
From memory? For all that you inspire,
Do I dare hope to love, and hold you dear?
You offer vision, and future as more
Than weeping fool. But, shall I ask for all
I seek, from you? Should I let my heart fall
When I cannot my future hopes ensure?
I seek for truth, and friendship; love, and muse;
Yet I could not ever your smile refuse.
