Putting the photos in the album yesterday reminded me how quiet we found the Nine Muses. As we were the top building any sounds from other residents were blown away on the wind before reaching us. Although there were passing goats and sheep we weren't near a permanent farm so no donkey, cockerel, goat bells. As we were at the end of a spur road, little traffic noise. A couple of dogs across the valley would chase passing traffic but that road was a dead end as well so not much there either. There was one bit of building going on along our our road but even the cement mixer and pneumatic drill noise was blown away. (Did I mention how windy it was?!). If it had been a UK building site each worker would have had his own radio blaring out pop music. In fact the only intrusive noise was the tannoys from cruise ships instructing their punters on embarkation details. We could enjoy the twittering of the bee-eaters instead. Considering how close we were to Turkey we didn't even have any of the usual noisy Airforce low level flypasts.

(now back home to passing traffic, overflying airliners going to Heathrow, local dog refuge- continual barking, neighbour's DIY machinery etc.)
