I play, but I taught myself and may be doing everything wrong. Most folk fiddlers simply do what's comfortable to them, and up-bow when others down-bow, play rolls when others play triplets, double-stop whenever. I know there's a mail list for fiddlers, but I'm not a member and don't know how you could join.

I often don't change bow direction for a slur. Sometimes I add a grace note somewhere in there. I never pay attention to any of the bowing symbols, anyway. I may be able to help with suggestions on how to play a tune "easier" or "bouncier," but probably not "correctly." Others may have completely different suggestions. :-)
