Subject: RE: help with Northumbrain pipes
Hi 'newpiper'!

I used the 'A Basic Tutor for the Northumbrian Small Pipes' by Richard Butler printed in 1976. It doesn't have an ISBN reference, but it might have acquired one by now though.

There is no substitute for playing with other pipers and getting their advice on reed adjustment, fettling, etc. So I would echo Mick's comments about getting in touch with Northumbrian Pipers Society to find out where meetings occur in your area.

Colin Ross, the Chairman, is considering conducting distance learning for anyone interested in reed making but numbers might be limited.

Good luck!

PM me if you have any problems you think I could assist you with.
