In the end we are not measured by the number of days we live, but how we live the days. Using that standard, or any you choose, this was a person who demonstrated the truth of heroism. Heroes don't usually set out to be such. In fact, they generally, and honestly, don't realize they are heroic. Tragedy is what revealed this side of Reeve. He could have given up, he could have bemoaned all he had lost. He could have used his great wealth and prestige for his own good. But he did not. His tragedy opened his own eyes to the others. He worked for himself, and for all. His life deserves a song.

And what of his beloved Dana, and his children. I think they are not done teaching us. If you wanted a role model from which to teach what real love, passionate love, devoted love is all about, you would not do better than this remarkable Dana. I am quite sure his children will honor their Father. To Matthew, Alexandra, and Will ..... we are so sorry for your loss, and yet we celebrate a life well lived.
