we had squirrels in the attic last year, they made a hole in the roof and got in that way. Maybe you don't mind having the cute lil critters doing that but we sure did. When the big downpour came last october (the most rain ever recorded) pretty much all the water that was in that side of the house got funnelled into the hole, and into our wall. It was like sticking in a garden hose and putting it on full blast.
and when I put seed out Im doing it for the birds not for squirrels. (they can find their own) I find that the birdfeeder that sticks on to the outside of the window is squirrel proof as they cant jump onto it or climb the glass.
