It was an exciting opening contest -- for a while it looked like the only reason to continue watching was to see if Mussina would get his perfect game, but the Sox came back and made quite a game of it.

As the teams get deeper into their rotations, the Yankee's shortage of quality starting pitchers will probably become evident, and the Sox should come back to make things interesting.

I'm so glad I can be interested *without* having a deep emotional investment in either team. I suppose I'd prefer to see the underdog Bosox prevail, just for variety's sake, but I don't really care that much. Some people are going to be very unhappy, whichever way it goes.
