My dryad muse, how can I find desires
In dream alone? I need to understand
What you would have me feel: My hope aspires
To love, but cannot even smile demand.
I read within your words reflections of
A heart I would embrace. How can I see
Into your eyes and not find soul I'd love?
Yet, should I think you could more than muse be?
I cannot alter time, nor past regret,
But hope I may have some lessons now learned.
Do I ask too much, or do dreams upset?
I would not risk friendship for what I've yearned.
You give me inspiration: Is there more
That I may ask, and still your smile ensure?
