Thread Name: BS: Gasoline prices doubled in 4 years.
Subject: RE: BS: Gas prices doubled in 4 years.
as I said above, I once paid 17.9¢ a gallon. That was in Wichita, Kans during the gas wars in 1969 or so, when the independents and the majors fought over whether the price difference was to be 1¢ or 2¢. I did regularly buy gas in the 20¢ range for a couple of years.

There was one old lady who ran a small chain of independents who lowered the price to 15.9 for maybe 2 days, but I never got to the south part of town to buy any.

In 1975 I went to Juneau, Alaska and was appalled to see prices of 75¢ a gallon.

Obviously, we need to do many things about energy dependency, but one MAJOR one is to figure out what happens when petroleum supplies worldwide are just-not-there!

Anyone for stock in railroads again?
