What a shock. Apart from being a sincere and knowledgable presenter he also championed many up-and-coming bands. Back in the early seventies he gave great support to John Fiddler and Pete Hope-Evans, aka Medicine Head, offering encouragement, promoting their music and even buying them a decent van so they could travel form gig to gig relatively sure that they would actually get there.

He'll be sorely missed.
