Your joy my heart's desire, I seek to bring
Some of dream's hope to be. What might I send
To show concern? Might I my presence lend
To ease endeavors, that your heart might sing?
Would I might alter time, to spend evening
Giving what comfort arms can share: I'd hold
You as my muse and love. Am I too bold
In wanting you, that my hopes would take wing?
Yet, I cannot desire fulfill: I stay
Too far to send more than my words. Sweet muse,
You deserve better than I have to share.
How can I hope to night's despair allay
When I offer only my dreams? To lose
My doubts, I must far more than mere words dare.
