Sonnet 17/03/03                         DCCCII

How can I share the feelings that I hold
Upon the thought of muse? It is not eyes
Nor mouth, nor even her sweet curves, that ties
My heart to dreams of her. I have but told
How her words reach to me, not how they fold
Around my guts to become part of soul.
I can with words all of passions extol,
But can I show I find her heart is gold?
I wish that muse might have the joy I know
When her words offer insight into heart:
I wish I might ease sorrows, and the wear
Of daily toil. Yet, should I let hopes grow?
I cannot give all I desire, nor start
To show my love: I pray she knows I care.
