Thread Name: Local music group gaining recognotion
Subject: New acoustic venue
Hi all!

I am announcing this without the group's knowledge. This is unofficial.

Here in New Haven, Missouri a new acoustic music venue was estahblished over the summer.

Riverfront Merchantile is a purveyor of "atypical" beer and wine (meaning it sells non AB products). There is a selection of local wines (we are in Missouri's "wine country") and 30 to 40 beers, ales, porters, and stouts and some hard cider. Guiness, Tadcaster, Anchor Steam, and many other tasty beverages. One can make up a six pack of any beer sold there for about $8.

In addition, RM is also a gallery, featuring local artists rotating on a monthly basis. And live, acoustic music.

My personal favorite are the Ozark Hens ("pluckin like you never heard before"), whose name parodies the Dixie Chicks.

Performances are on Saturdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM followed by an open acoustic jam (a session, in other words).

The "Hens" play traditional and bluegrass with a dash of old time country "gospel".

Other musicians include:

Thom Pallozola and Steve Harre; Craig Newman and Eddie Thomas; Pat Frank and Michael Forristal.

It is a small room but a dedicated clientel of enthusiastic beer and wine fans who also greatly appreciate the music.

If you're in the St. Louis area, the short drive to Western Franklin county is well worth it. Bring your instrument(s) and voice.
