One text of this is in the DT, but there are other versions. Anybody know them?

Here's one stanza from World War II:

          You'll never get to Heaven in a PBY,
          'Cause a PBY don't fly that high.
          And I ain't a-gonna grieve my Lord no more!

A PBY "Catalina" was a twin-engined US Navy flying boat used extensively for patrol and rescue duties in both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Here's another one from the RAF (evidently the song got around!):

          You'll never get to Heaven a-flying Spits,
          'Cause the Lord don't want no silly shits....

Spitfires, that is.
