Sonnet 26/04/03                        DCCCX

Might wizard, with a web of words, hold muse
For long enough to know his fate? He dreams
That he might find true love: Should he not use
His gift, to seek if heart is as it seems?
He sees sweet muse, and asks: Is she the one
To know his soul? Her words give cause to think
She shares some of desires, yet should he run
After his dreams? Does he to vain task sink?
She fills his dreams, and thoughts of her become
His reasons to find hope. Her eyes lend bright
Imagining: Her smile becomes the sum
Of what he seeks, and he knows dreams are right.
His skill and knowledge does not have the power
Of muse, but can he hope to leave his tower?
